Miss Universe candidate Maxine Medina faces controversy after netizens started bashing her due to her inability to speak fluent and grammatically correct English.
Many netizens even suggested replacing her with someone else while there is still time.
Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) chairman Liza Diño had her own opinion in regards the issue.
On her own Facebook account, Dino defended the candidate telling netizens to focus on her strength.
According to her, Medina doesn’t need to be proficient in speaking English to have an edge over the competition.
“Bakit hindi kumuha ng translator para mas malaya niyang masasagot ang mga tanong?” she even suggested.
