Police in Caloocan Died While Doing Anti Drug Operation!

A police officer was shot dead while another police man was severely injured in a separate anti-drug operation in Caloocan City last Friday Sept. 16.

Six alleged drug users were involved in a shootout with the police which left PO1 Romeo Mandapat dead and PO1 Bayani Oditor injured according to Senior Supt. Johnson Almazan of the Caloocan Police Department. Oditor and Mandapat were rushed to the hospital at 6:00 am but Mandapat was pronounced dead on arrival.

He said the Montoya brothers shot at the police when they learned that the transaction was a sting operation.

Meanwhile, two drug targets and a police personnel were killed in the anti-drug operation in Barangay 178, according to the television report.
